Released in 1971 but recorded the previous summer, Odyssey Of Iska is the fourteenth album from legendary American jazz saxophonist and songwriter Wayne Shorter, and the final release of his early Blue Note period as he was on the verge of joining Weather Report. Featuring guitarist Gene Bertoncini, bassists Cecil McBeeand Ron Carter plus a rotating cast of percussionists, it’s a scintillating suite of avant-garde jazz.
