Fathers brings together producer Kenny Beats, keyboardist Kiefer, bassist CARRTOONS and drummer Nate Smith—four artists pushing contemporary jazz beyond traditional boundaries. On their self-titled debut for Verve Records, the quartet treats jazz as a foundation rather than a destination, weaving together improvisation, hip-hop rhythms and deep funk influences across eight tracks. The result is a fluid, collaborative record that reflects each member's distinct musical background while forging a sound entirely its own.
