Description
Originally released in 2017, Zara McFarlane’s Arise stands as a key moment in the Brownswood Recordings catalogue. Arriving before London’s new jazz generation stepped fully into the spotlight, it found McFarlane already carving out her own space with real assurance.
On Arise, Zara McFarlane brings together jazz, soul, reggae and Afro-Caribbean traditions with clarity, depth and a strong sense of purpose. Nearly a decade on, it still feels fresh, focused and deeply personal, capturing an artist with a singular vision and a sound that continues to resonate.
