Description
The Sorcerers are made up from legends of the Leeds jazz and world music scene. Their eponymous debut takes in influences from Ethiopian Jazz, European horror film scores from the ‘60s and ‘70s and British library music. Ethiopian jazz legend, Mulatu Astatke, Quinton Scott of Strut records and Late Junction presenter Nick Luscombe have championed the band. The album was recorded in ATA records own analogue studio to give the music some analogue authenticity. Opening track Pinch Of The Death Nerve was made “Beat Of The Week” by BBC 6 Music’s Huey Morgan.
