Description
Petter Eldh – the restless Swedish producer and bassist known for his work with Django Bates, Jameszoo and Kit Downes – returns with Projekt Drums, Vol. 2, a dense, high-definition evolution of his experimental beatcraft. This time he assembles a powerhouse trio of drummers: James Maddren, Savannah Harris, and Richard Spaven.
At its core, this is a breakbeat record – stretched, fragmented and reimagined. Drawing on the rhythmic inventiveness of J Dilla, Madlib and Flying Lotus, and the velocity of drum’n’bass pioneers like Roni Size and Squarepusher, Eldh blurs the lines between hip-hop swing, jungle chaos, and jagged experimental jazz. Circular patterns drive the grooves and sequencing, shaping a tightly coiled, low-end-heavy soundworld that's as cerebral as it is physical.
