Ruby Rushton return with their fifth album Legacy!, written by band leader Tenderlonious and keys player Aidan Shepherd. Long celebrated for their “one take” live recordings, the quartet — also featuring Nick Walters (trumpet) and Tim Carnegie (drums) — took a fresh approach here, blending their instinctive interplay with considered studio craft.
Recorded over four winter days at Rimshot Studios in Kent, the sessions capture the band at full strength. Horn and flute overdubs enrich the original live takes, adding colour and breadth to their trademark grooves and melodic hooks. The result is a bold, multi‑layered record that deepens their sound without losing its immediacy.
