Description
The Complete Columbia Recordings 1955-1961 brings together the extraordinary recordings made by Miles Davis and John Coltrane between October 1955 and March 1961, documenting their influential partnership during Davis's early years at Columbia Records. These sessions capture two jazz pioneers pushing each other towards increasingly adventurous territory, helping redefine the possibilities of modern jazz. Originally collected in an acclaimed, Grammy-winning box set in 2000, the recordings offer a fascinating account of their musical development, from hard bop to the modal innovations that changed jazz forever.
