Drawing from the legendary archives at 13 Brentford Road, the compilation brings together essential cuts and harder-to-find gems from the birth of Jamaican ska.
Featuring key tracks from The Skatalites, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Delroy Wilson, Ken Boothe, The Maytals, Jackie Mittoo and Tommy McCook, the collection captures the raw energy and rhythmic drive that defined the sound of newly independent Jamaica.
Founded by Clement “Sir Coxsone” Dodd, Studio One helped shape ska before laying the groundwork for rocksteady and reggae. This set stands as a sharp introduction to the label’s early years and the artists who transformed Jamaican music.
