Puerto Rico-born pianist Eddie Lebron and Orquesta Suave helped kickstart Joe Bataan’s Ghetto Records with this potent mix of heavy salsa and Latin soul. Founded by Bataan as a bid for independence and creative control, Ghetto Records burned brightly but briefly, leaving behind seven sought-after albums. Now-Again brings the catalogue back into circulation, beginning with Lebron’s fiery set and shedding fresh light on Bataan’s short-lived but important label.
